Your 10-Day Tanzania to Zanzibar Tour Itinerary
Includes Gorilla Tracking in Uganda

Day 1: Welcome to the Former Capital of Uganda (Entebbe)
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your guide will greet you and escort you to your guesthouse. Entebbe, a small town nestled on the shores of Lake Victoria, has a population of just 70,000. It boasts a beautiful botanical garden and offers a relaxing start to your adventure. Settle in and enjoy a refreshing traditional fruity cocktail to unwind after your journey.

Overnight at 2 Friends Beach Hotel or Karibu Guesthouse

Day 2: The Animal Kingdom of the Jungle (Entebbe, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park)
Today, we depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known for its rich biological and botanical diversity, the park covers 331 square kilometres and is home to around 400 wild mountain gorillas—almost half of the global population of these gentle giants. Bwindi is also renowned for bird watching, internationally recognised by the African Bird Club. After a scenic drive, spend your afternoon exploring Buhoma village, visiting local handicraft markets, or learning about the Batwa tribe, an ancient people who live in the forest.

Overnight at The Haven, a community lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 3: In Touch with the Gentle Apes (Bwindi Impenetrable National Park)
Begin your day with an early start and a hearty breakfast to prepare for gorilla tracking. After registration at the Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger Station and a briefing, your adventure begins. The rangers will guide you through village gardens and into the dense, jungle-like forest, using machetes to clear the undergrowth as they lead the way to the gorillas, who are under 24-hour observation for their safety.

During your time with the gorillas, your guide will interpret their behaviours, offering insights into family dynamics. You’ll have the chance to observe mothers with their young, playful juveniles, and the dominant silverback. This hour-long experience with the gorillas is unforgettable, as they often display curiosity towards human visitors.

After your trek, return to the village for some well-deserved rest. In the afternoon, you can experience the Batwa tribe’s cultural performances, including their traditional dances and forest survival skills.

Overnight at The Haven

Day 4 – Relax at the Beaches of the Indian Ocean (Entebbe, Zanzibar)
After breakfast, transfer to Entebbe for your flight to Zanzibar via Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you’ll be transported to your beach resort. The island’s white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. A refreshing ocean breeze and a range of water sports and excursions await you at your resort.

Dinner and overnight at Breezes Beach Club and Spa

Days 5 – 9 – Relax and Explore Zanzibar (Zanzibar)
Spend the next few days soaking in the beauty of Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous part of Tanzania with a population of around 1 million. You have the freedom to choose from a wide array of activities that cater to all interests. Stroll through the hidden alleys of Stone Town for a taste of local culture or set sail on a traditional dhow for a sunset cruise. Indulge in a culinary adventure with a spice tour or sample freshly grilled seafood at Forodhani market.

For beach lovers, the surrounding islands offer exciting day trips, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot wild dolphins. For the more adventurous, options include diving in coral gardens, deep-sea fishing, or windsurfing. Zanzibar’s diverse experiences promise something for everyone.

Dinner and overnight at Breezes Beach Club and Spa

Day 10 – Goodbye (Zanzibar)
After breakfast, transfer from your resort to Zanzibar Airport, according to your departure schedule. As you bid farewell to this unforgettable adventure, you’ll carry with you lasting memories of Africa’s beauty. We hope to welcome you back to East Africa soon!
