Your 12-Day Tanzania and Kenya Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi
On arrival, you will be met and transferred to Southern Sun Mayfair for a welcome dinner and overnight stay.

Overnight: Southern Sun Mayfair or similar (B)


 

Day 2: Nairobi to Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up and transfer you across the Kenya/Tanzania border to Arusha for lunch. Following lunch, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and check in at your lodge in Karatu.

Dinner and Overnight: Ngorongoro Farm House (Full Board)


 

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
Descend 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater for a day tour. Explore the forested areas, lake region with flamingos, and open savannah where lions hunt. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot within the crater. Return to the lodge in the afternoon.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, check out and drive to Serengeti National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park
Spend the day exploring Serengeti National Park. To maximise game viewing, consider a picnic lunch and spend the full day in the park, home to a wide variety of African wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and their prey.

Day 6: Serengeti to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast and check-out, drive to Lake Manyara, a soda lake in the Rift Valley. Enjoy lunch at Kirurumu Tented Lodge, then take an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Explore diverse landscapes and spot wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, elephants, and tree-climbing lions.

Day 7: Lake Manyara to Amboseli National Park
Drive to Arusha for lunch, then continue to the Kenya/Tanzania border at Namanga. After clearing border formalities, proceed to Amboseli National Park. Check in at your lodge and enjoy an en route game drive.

Day 8: Amboseli National Park
Admire stunning views of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro from the park. Amboseli is known for its large herds of elephants and offers excellent game drives to spot lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, and the rare black rhino.

Day 9: Amboseli to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, with a picnic lunch provided en route. Check in and enjoy an evening game drive in the park.

Day 10: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara Game Reserve
Drive via Narok to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive for lunch and an afternoon game drive in the reserve.

Day 11: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Spend a full day in the Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. The reserve is renowned for its abundant wildlife, including the Big Five and numerous other species such as cheetahs, giraffes, and wildebeests.

Day 12: Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi, arriving around midday. Transfer to your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
