Uganda Airlines

It has been a landmark few days for travel to East Africa. Uganda Airlines has confirmed the launch of two new international routes from Entebbe, opening fresh connections between Uganda, Rwanda, and Ghana. At the same time, Uganda’s Ministry of Health has officially declared the country Ebola-free, reaffirming its position as one of the safest and most welcoming destinations on the continent. Together, these developments make East Africa more accessible, more connected, and more travel-ready than ever, and there has never been a better moment to start planning your safari with Manya Africa Tours.

Uganda Airlines Expands Its Network from Entebbe

Uganda Airlines, the national carrier, has officially announced the expansion of its regional and continental network with two brand-new routes departing from Entebbe International Airport. The airline unveiled the routes during a launch event in Kampala, describing the expansion as a major step toward positioning Entebbe as a leading aviation hub connecting East, West, and Southern Africa.

Kigali, Rwanda — Daily flights will begin on 18th November 2026, offering seamless daily connectivity between Entebbe and Kigali. This route strengthens ties within the East African Community and makes it easier than ever to combine a Uganda safari with a visit to Rwanda’s mountain gorillas.

Accra, Ghana — Four weekly flights will begin on 27th October 2026, giving Uganda Airlines its first direct link to Ghana and opening a new gateway between East and West Africa, one of the continent’s least directly connected travel corridors.

For travelers, these new routes mean shorter connections, more convenient scheduling, and greater flexibility when planning a trip to Uganda and the wider East African region. Whether you are flying in from West Africa or connecting through Kigali, reaching Entebbe for your safari adventure has never been more straightforward.

Uganda Is Officially Ebola-Free and Ready to Welcome You

In equally welcome news, Uganda’s Ministry of Health has officially declared the country Ebola-free, reaffirming its status as one of Africa’s premier and safest travel destinations. The declaration follows the successful completion of all outbreak response measures, including the mandatory monitoring period during which no further cases were recorded. Together with neighboring Rwanda, Uganda is fully open and ready to welcome travelers back for unforgettable wildlife, cultural, and adventure experiences.

A Continued Commitment to Sustainable Tourism

Sustainability remains at the heart of Uganda’s tourism industry. Every month, communities across the country take part in nationwide clean-up exercises in support of International Cleaning Day, promoting cleaner environments and contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These monthly clean-up exercises have been adopted by the Government of Uganda as a mandatory civic responsibility for all citizens, demonstrating the country’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
